Arkansas State University-Beebe

Art Gallery

Welcome to ASU-Beebe's online Art Gallery. We hope you will enjoy the art works by our students, and, perhaps, you will be inspired to take a class with us.

While we have hosted numerous art contests, an online gallery is an exciting new way to show you the creativity of our students.

Drawing

Drawing is distinct from painting. Drawing is often exploratory, with considerable emphasis on observation, problem solving and composition. Drawings may be representational, depicting objects or scenes which the artist views, remembers, or imagines. They may be realistic to the point of lifelike resemblance, architectural drawing or looser approximations of reality. Most drawing media are either dry (e.g. graphite, charcoal, pastels, Conté, silverpoint), or water-based (marker, pen and ink). Art students at ASU-Beebe created the variety of drawings below.

Painting

Painting, meant literally, is the practice of applying color to a surface (support) such as paper, canvas, wood, glass, lacquer, concrete or other. Paintings can be naturalistic and representational (as in a still life or landscape painting), photographic, abstract, be loaded with narrative content, symbolism, emotion or be political in nature. Art students at ASU-Beebe created the variety of drawings below.
