ASU-Beebe Music Department to Hold Scholarship Auditions
March 6, 2006

BEEBE-The Arkansas State University-Beebe Music Department will be holding scholarship auditions for the 2006-2007 school year.

Auditions will be held March 18 and April 15 on the Beebe campus. Scholarships will be awarded for both singers and pianists. Scholarship opportunities are available for both music majors and non-music majors.

Vocalists should be prepared to sing The Star-Spangled Banner. Another song may be prepared but is not necessary. Pianists should be prepared to play two pieces from contrasting style periods. Both vocalists and pianists will be asked to sight-read.

The music program at ASU-Beebe has grown exponentially over the last two years. New coursework has been implemented, and new faculty has been hired to give the music students everything needed for the first two years for a degree in vocal music education, music therapy, or theory and composition. A state of the art keyboard and computer lab was recently installed to enhance students' education.

To make an appointment for an audition or for more information about the music program, call Dr. Tammie Burger at (501) 882-6535.
